Rossetto: a leading player in the food retail sector since 1965

Project objectives
New control system for the commercial area and distribution network

The company expressed the need to implement a control and governance system for its sales and distribution network, entrusted to a Controller, a role that was not part of the organization until 2018. The management control introduced with Dialog focused on three main areas: platform merchandise movement, network load and sales analysis with a particular focus on margins, and monitoring of in-store human resource productivity KPIs.

Using the E3 Suite and its data warehouse, several high-value activities were launched. First, a systematic monitoring system for goods movements was introduced, allowing for the reconciliation of shipments and store deliveries, supported by reports with automatic alerts.

At the same time, the product tree was reorganized for statistical purposes, broken down by department, sector, product family, and sub-product family. This intervention eliminated the cashier department, reclassified items historically, and integrated it with the Human Resources department, where hours worked are recorded, allowing for more complete and consistent analyses.

Reasons for the choice
Rossetto has chosen the Suite E3 based on the following strengths:
A consolidated experience of over twenty years in the retail sector, in family-run companies characterised by efficient processes and "short" decision-making chains“
The concentration of all data from different information flows into a single database, the Data Warehouse
Immediate production of analysis and reporting independent of EDP programming activities
Ease of use for users
The availability of ready-to-use reading and intervention applications and models
Support and guidance in the creation and growth of the management control function, created with Relatech consultants starting from the search for the controller role on the job market
Benefits obtained
From goods traceability to store productivity

The GOODS MOVEMENT area ensures:

  • Their traceability and measurement through five cost levels
  • Balancing shipments and store loads, activating and monitoring various store movements (returns, transfers, discards, etc.)
  • The production of reports containing automatic alerts that signal anomalies

The management of the LOADS, SALES and NETWORK MARGINS area takes place through the use of:

  • Store Dashboards: These allow for both directional and granular sales analysis; all reporting for management and store managers has been standardized and automated. Additionally, an online dashboard has been created where store operators can access key data, such as sales, waste, and productivity, on a daily basis.
  • Balance Sheet Dashboards: allow for the analysis of Product Details (sector, family, item) and the measurement of Inventory Shrinkage by comparing Theoretical Margin and Actual Margin.
  • Category Marginality Dashboards: compare the Margin Input and the Sell-Out Margin.
  • Assortment Control: This involves the statistical analysis of product rotation and potential stock-outs, comparing them with store assortment data and warehouse stock levels, with the aim of recovering revenue.
  • Network sales management occurs through the integration of hours worked by aggregate department, with expression of hourly productivity.
