Research focus

Define and implement an integrated platform dedicated to the identification, prevention, management and treatment of the geriatric syndrome of “fragility”, i.e. the increased exposure to the vulnerability of diseases, infections, cognitive decline. The platform is based on the identification of metrics capable of:

Better understanding the relationship between frailty and comorbidity
Identify qualitative and quantitative indices useful for predicting outcomes, primarily, of cognitive and functional degradation in the short-long term
Estimate the risk of a possible transition into the state of fragility
Define personalized preventive intervention strategies to mitigate the risk of frailty through so-called evidence-based recommendations

Development of a Virtual Patient Model for the implementation of processes and pathways aimed at creating personalized patient monitoring and care (tailored care pathway).

Internet of Things platform based on mobile and cloud technologies, characterized by an Artificial Intelligence engine (Multi-Instance Learning (MIL)) for the diagnosis of risks associated with fragility. The platform integrates tools for the acquisition of data of various quality, of great importance in the economy of the solution the presence of minimally intrusive wearables and serious cognitive games used by mobile devices.
