RE-WITCH

The coolest cold from the cleanest heat.

Innovative solutions in the field of sustainable industrial cooling and heating
Research focus
The project's primary objective is to provide innovative and competitive solutions in the field of sustainable industrial cooling and heating. The project aims to demonstrate transformative technological solutions that harness the combined potential of low-temperature waste heat and heat from renewable sources for industries, while also aiming to integrate these technologies into relevant European policies.
Solution found
The project aims to demonstrate advanced thermally driven industrial cooling technologies based on adsorption and absorption processes. These solutions will be demonstrated at four sites, covering the food and beverage sectors, as well as industrial sectors where heat-cold solutions are not yet widely explored, such as biorefineries and paper production.
Advanced technological solution
The RE-WITCH project promotes the development of innovative technologies for the recovery and efficient use of waste heat, combining renewable sources and advanced digital solutions to optimize industrial heating and cooling processes.
Advanced technologies

Using adsorption and absorption processes powered by low-temperature waste heat and renewable sources, such as high-vacuum flat-plate solar collectors.

Design tools

Developing open-access modeling platforms and engineering solutions to facilitate the design, scaling, and integration of technologies in industrial contexts.

Digital control

Relatech's role in developing a monitoring and control platform to efficiently manage new heating and cooling systems.
