The law, of EU origin, aims to encourage the reporting of any wrongdoing and, at the same time, protect the whistleblower from any retaliation by the reported subject.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b5cae2d e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"b5cae2d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-18b405a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"18b405a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What is Whistleblowing?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-66cb086 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"66cb086\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Whistleblowing is a term that refers to the<strong>the act of reporting or disclosing information regarding illegal, unethical or improper behavior within a company or organization<\/strong>. An employee who whistleblows may do so to expose illegal activity, corruption, discrimination, violations of rules, or other forms of improper conduct within the company where he or she works.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e465b69 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"e465b69\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Reportable offences<\/strong> are violations of national or community rules that harm the public interest or the integrity of the public administration or private entity (for example, harassment in the workplace, environmental protection, public health, consumer protection, protection of privacy and personal data, etc.)<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-84025b6 e-grid e-con-full e-con e-child\" data-id=\"84025b6\" data-element_type=\"container\" elementor-size-default\">Sanctions<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6a8c09e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6a8c09e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In case of failure to establish internal channels, retaliation against the whistleblower, violations of confidentiality of information, obstruction of reporting, etc., sanctions ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 euros are foreseen.<\/p><p><strong>The whistleblower who incurs the crimes of defamation or calumny is liable to a fine of 500 to 2,500 euros.<\/strong><\/p><p>The competent body for applying these sanctions is the ANAC.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
